United States: Before all this, they have only met once in July, though Trump invited Zelensky for a last-minute phone call just as heaping scorn on him on the campaign trail.

The Republican presidential nominee said at the news conference that the Ukrainian leader will come to Trump Tower on the Friday next week, only days after Trump accused him of not wanting to “make a deal” with Moscow.

The former US president seems to have done a u-turn after there were reports from the campaign claiming that the two were hardly likely to meet.

As reported by the BBC, the two have had a very much like we say it’s actually very complicated relationship. Trump was impeached in 2019 on charges that he tried to induce Ukraine’s president, Zelensky into investigating the Bidens.

The content of the call shown in a crudely reconstructed text was about Trump’s attempt to force Zelensky to investigate the former Vice President, Joe Biden and the latter’s son.

Since Russia began its operation in Ukraine in February this year, Trump has consistently echoed Kremlin narratives on the war. In the presidential debate in September, he failed to answer a question on whether he would like Ukraine to win the war.

Declaring the meeting with the Ukrainian leader, Trump once again insisted that he with “can make a deal between Putin and Zelensky very fast”.

But the former president refused to expand on his plan of action elaborately. He also declined to expound when asked if he thinks Ukraine should surrender territory to Russia in order to stop the fighting.

feels it is dreadful what is taking place currently in Ukraine had said in form. The loss of lives, and property’s that have been destroyed. It’s a horrible thing, yes, I brought that up; Trump said to reporters in New York on Thursday.

On Thursday night, Trump tweeted a screenshot of a text message from President Zelensky, relayed by Ukraine’s deputy ambassador to the US. In it

The Ukrainian leader requested a meeting with the ex-president and said it was important for us to have a personal contact and to understand each other 100 percent and the Friday’s meeting comes amid the tension between the Zelensky and the Republican party which is ahead of the US presidential election.

Some of the Republicans were not happy by the Zelensky’s visit to an arms factory in the Biden’s hometown for Scranton, Pennsylvania, with top Democrats which also includes state Governor Josh Shapiro, earlier this week.

Zelensky’s trip of the key swing state was labelled by the leading republicans as a partisan campaign event and in a public letter, House Speaker Mike Johnson said the visit was initially designed to help democrats and claimed it amounted to “election interference.”
