United States: Ex-president Trump gathered more than 1 million USD  for the victims on Monday after hurricane Helene devastation.

A GoFundMe called was initiated by the Trump campaign after Biden visited the devastated Georgia and toured the areas affected by hurricane Helene.

As many across the Southeastern U.S. are struggling post storm, President Trump is there to get a firsthand look at the devastation the storm has caused. Any donations will be forwarded to disaster victims particularly those affected by Hurricane Helene.

As reported by the Fox News, the president himself visited Valdosta, Georgia on Monday where he voiced his disappointment at the federal response to the disaster Any amount will help friends and neighbors who need it,” Trump said in his speech.

” Our hearts are with you and we are going to be with you as long as you need it,” he said addressing a group of elected officials, and Republican supporters. President Biden accused his prior administration of ‘fibbing’ on the federal contacts with Georgia officials in the response.

 “I don’t know why he does this,” Biden said. It is irrelevant that I don’t care about what he says about me but I am concerned as to what he is portraying to people that are in need. He suggests we’re not trying enough. We are. They are.

”On Monday Biden said he would tour the area in Asheville North Carolina to see the effects of Helene.

Over 100 people died in Helene by Monday evening.

The collective response from political figures like Trump and Biden underscores the pressing need for immediate assistance and long-term recovery strategies in the wake of such natural disasters. When these leaders are in the public arena, party politics is often reflected in their remarks, but the aim is assisting persons whose lives have been devastated by Hurricane Helene.
